The programme includes a leadership workshop run by Teach
First, the UK largest graduate recruiter; as well as an opportunity to find out
about the Faculty’s Work Experience Bursaries Scheme and the In Shape
employability programme.
The afternoon event marks the official launch of In Shape,
an employability programme targeted at Social Sciences first and intermediate
years who are from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in higher
education (this can mean the first generation in their family to go to university,
students from schools / colleges with low progression rates into HE, or from
lower-income families, or mature students). The full programme will include
regular workshop sessions on a wide range of employability-related topics led
by big-name employers and careers experts.
The event on 12 March has now been opened to a wider pool of
Social Sciences students, who are welcome to join us for the afternoon, with no
obligation to sign up for the In Shape programme.
The
